About Blackberry Flats
Growing up at my homeplace called Blackberry Flats, every few winters my mother would ask my father to make some more potholders for the kitchen. Daddy would pull out the old looms and cotton loops and then invite my sisters and me to join him in weaving. While we kids made simple designs that he taught us, he was always experimenting with the weave to come up with a new design. As I grew up, he taught me some of these patterns, and it became a bit of a competition to see who could come up with the best new design.
