Log Cabin Pattern

The log cabin pattern is made of alternating lines of two different colors with one repetition of the same color in the center of the potholder. On an 18-peg loom, this pattern uses 18 loops of each of the two colors. In the diagram below, the first row and column show the color of each loop, and the area inside the thick-lined square shows the resulting pattern. The "U" designates that the horizontal loop is woven under the vertical loop, and the "O" designates that the horizontal loop is woven over the vertical loop.
